The Graduate Program in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition (SNP) at UFV promotes two selection processes (admissions) per year, usually with deadlines in April and September. Additional admissions are possible, subject to scholarship availability.
All Master`s and PhD students have scholarships. Foreign students should indicate during the application process whether they are applying for Brazilian scholarships or have scholarships from their home country. All foreigners are eligible to apply to the selection process.
The selection process is conducted remotely. Master’s and doctoral programs are in-person, and selected candidates must reside in Viçosa or the surrounding region after enrollment. Exceptions are granted for training abroad and conducting experiments.

2026 II CALL
The SNP announces the selection process for the second semester of 2026.
The selection process offers 4 (four) Master’s degree positions and 4 (four) Doctoral degree positions. The positions are distributed among the SNP research groups and among those reserved for affirmative action policies. Affirmative action policies are exclusively for Brazilians who meet the criteria set forth in CEPE UFV Resolution No. 8/2019.

The Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) has launched a new call exclusively for international students to pursue postgraduate studies at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV).
